Patriots Point

The history of Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum began in the summer of 1975 when the legendary aircraft carrier USS Yorktown appeared on the horizon of Charleston Harbor. A few months later, the USS Yorktown was dedicated as the first ship of the Naval & Maritime Museum on the 200th birthday of the United States Navy. Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum was officially opened to the public on January 3, 1976.

Charleston Tea Plantation

The Charleston Tea Plantation is the home of American Classic Tea, the ONLY tea grown in America. It is located on picturesque Wadmalaw Island in the heart of South Carolina's Lowcountry. Its grounds include 127 acres of Camellia Sinensis tea plants, a working Tea Factory and a charming Plantation Gift Shoppe. Also available to guests is an adventurous and educational Trolley Tour that explores the scenic grounds that produce American Classic Tea.

Firefly Distillery

Created in a small still on Wadmalaw Island in 2008, Firefly became the world’s first hand-crafted sweet tea vodka. Keeping true to its southern roots, Firefly is distilled four times, infused with tea grown on a plantation five miles from the distillery and blended with real Louisiana sugar cane. Firefly has quickly become a consumer favorite and continues to “fly” off store shelves.

Fort Sumter National Monument

Decades of growing strife between North and South erupted in civil war on April 12, 1861, when Confederate artillery opened fire on this Federal fort in Charleston Harbor. Fort Sumter surrendered 34 hours later. Union forces would try for nearly four years to take it back.

Charleston Stage Company

Charleston Stage, founded by Playwright Julian Wiles in 1978, is South Carolina’s largest professional theatre company. At the Historic Dock Street Theatre, which has just recently undergone a $19 million renovation, Charleston Stage has presented over 150 productions and played to a collective audience of over one million strong. Charleston Stage employs 13 full-time staff members, guest artists, and scores of actors, dancers, singers and musicians and TheatreWings High School Apprentices.

Boone Hall Plantation

In 1743, the son of Major John Boone planted live oak trees, arranging them in two evenly spaced rows. This spectacular approach to his home symbolizes southern heritage and will take root in your memory for many years to come. It would take two centuries for the massive, moss-draped branches to meet overhead, forming today's natural corridor and a scene that NBC Daytime television says is "a must see stop on any trip to Charleston, S.C."

Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

Theatre 99

Theatre 99 is located at 280 Meeting Street above the Bicycle Shoppe. Walk to the back of the building and you will see the stairs to our entrance. Theatre 99 has a bar with beer, wine and sodas. It is a non-smoking venue. Shows are typically rated PG-13, but since it is based on audience suggestion, you never know what is going to happen. Shows are not appropriate for kids under 11 years old. Most shows contain adult language.

Caw Caw Interpretive Center

The Charleston County Park, Recreation and Tourist Commission was created in 1968 as a county special purpose district by an act of the South Carolina legislature. The original act was amended in 1972, authorizing the Commission to promote Charleston’s historical and tourist attractions, to create and operate countywide parks and recreation facilities, and to provide technical assistance to existing park and recreation agencies and community groups.
